A sharp piercing edge with no shape,
It is not solid and yet seems alive,
It is not a spirit yet lives in the conscious minds,
A deep black hidden cave within the panicked thoughts,
A sharp piercing edge with no shape.

A cold lonely feel with even fear for itself,
It creeps up to the mind and conquers it with its iron clad arms,
It cannot be beaten with only the light,
For it is always there hidden beneath the joy,
A cold lonely feel with even fear for itself.

A cape of the night that shadows the mind,
Its silent wrath creating terror among others,
It daunts and haunts and poisons the soul to the color of black,
Screeching and yelling is all the mind can do,
A cape of the night that shadows the mind.

The binding darkness that lies ready to spring,
A lion locked in cages that may come unhinged,
A dangerous creature of the shadows,
It calls, it roars, in the twilight of night,
The binding darkness that lies ready to spring.

    It’s fear that pierces.
    It’s fear that holds.
    It’s fear that shadows.
    It’s fear that binds.
It’s the fear deep down inside that drives.
