This information will come in handy for the college English course I teach. I start each semester with a lecture on the history of the English language, more or less titled, "No, you're not confused. It's the English langauge." LOL (Not OE, mind, but modern English, which is a hodge-podge of several langauges.) If you lived nearby, I'd invite you to give the lecture.
