    Here's a question.

    Do fantasy books come under Gothic?

    I've been wondering about that, seeing as they almost always feature sorcery, castles and damsels in distress.

    Mind you though, maybe the dwarves, elves and such stuff negate that?

    And also, what about Lord of the Rings?

    The LOTR films were certainly dark enough to be Gothic.
