I have said a lot about that in my article, "Alexander And The Illiad",HERE

Agamemnon was not king to Achilles. Achilles was sovereign in his own lands in Thrace. The rebellions of Achilles against the older father figure king must have struck a chord with young Alexander and as for Achilles sulking in his tent, Alexander tried that ploy several times to his advantage. One can see clearly where he got the idea.
