These are a good example of how to conduct oneself in Ancient Egypt:
Do not fraternize with the hot-tempered man,
Nor approach him to converse,
Safeguard your tongue from answering your superior,
And take care not to speak agaist him.
Do not allow him to cast words only to entrap you,
And be not too free in your replies;
With a man of your own station discuss the reply;
And take care of speaking thoughtlessly;
When a manīs heart is upset, words travel faster
Than wind and rain.
Thereīs much food for thought in this little piece. Overall, we find in these texts, the idea of being quiet and listening, and reflecting, instead of rushing away getting into all kinds of mess! :)
