I've just finished the newest french version today (which was published a little earlier than the latest english version, which the author said was the best one - and that I've ordered as well, hehe), and you were right, I enjoyed it a lot. I would never have believed you could sum up in a clear, not-too-frustrating-at-the-lack-of-details way, the history of this region from the very origins to the end of the mesopotamian civilization. But not only did Georges Roux managed it, he also wrote entire chapters where he takes the time to describe how the people at different times would have lived their everyday life.

    Definitely recommended to all!
