Shocking Crime!
by Beran Godwinson
A local girl, Mary Miller, reported being attacked by a gang of men while returning to her father's cottage after a day's
outing in the village.
Miss Miller said the men were 'foreigners, speaking with accents'. She was accosted while on the path leading through the woods by Wyvern Tower.
Miss Miller said she became frightened when the men surrounded her and began talking to her as though to a servant.
As their manner became rougher and their actions bolder, they grabbed her and threw her to the ground, her screams and pleadings only seeming to give them greater pleasure.

A Preview of the Exciting 'Exposition Universelle'
in Paris
by Richard
Haraldsson
Paris is hosting its fifth Exposition Universelle, and while the grand spectacle is not due to open until the 14th inst., it is already changing the face of 'La Ville
Lumiere'.

For the previous Paris Exposition in 1889, Gustave Eiffel gave the city its world famous tower; this year he has constructed an astounding beehive-shaped edifice called 'La Ruche' to be used as a wine rotunda.
But this is only a temporary structure: far more ambitious
and permanent are the Gare de Lyon, the Gare d' Orsay, the
Pont Alexandre III, the Grand Palais, and the
Petit Palais, some of which promise to have moving stairs,
or 'escalators'.
Meanwhile, a subway system, called ''Le Metropolitain'', is
being built from Porte de Vincennes to Porte Maillot.
