Ok, this is just a intro discussion but after looking things over and doing a wealth of research this is what I have come up with...

On the main board we discuss in order:

• The origins of the Slavs - religion, settlement, etc.
• The coming of the nomadic cultures on the pontic steppe - Huns, Bulgars, Khazaria with perhaps a small intro on the Scythians and Sarmatians.
• The Varangian [Viking] arrival - short discussion on the Varangian role in trade, city development, etc.
• The development of Kiev and Novgorod
• The Varangians in Miklagard [Constantinople] - role as the V-guard, traders, etc.
• The Mongol Horde arrives
• Concluding thoughts...
