I've also heard about the theory of it being in Ethiopia, locked away and guarded in a church whose name I cannot remember.

If such an object did exist and did survive to present times, it would seem to me that access should be given to the object so that it could be studied and dated with the purpose of it being verified or debunked. An item of such historical significance should be made available for the world to share as part of the collective history of this planet.
