With Mrs. Blatand being detained in London for some time to come, my duties around the grounds have been light. This has left me free to explore the town. The former gardener, seems to have been a competent enchanter, and I have found a number of wards placed about the property which bear the stamp of his craft. As they are ofsturdy constrction, I have let them be. I have placed several of my own, of course.
In my explorations about the town, I have dscovered that the taint of magic is as common water. Never have I seen so many layers of enchantment. Many of the enchantments are of quite ancient origins. Itwll take me years to make sense out of all that I have found. Already I have charted the major foci of enchantment. In Drakesheath proper, nearly all enchantments seem tied to the manor, yet the cemetary, and several ot the out laying regions seem also to be centers of activity.
I have chosen to take some time off from my studies. Tonight, I will take in the canival that has arrived in town.
