I grab for my axe, but see Apil's fuzzy face, and realize that, for some reason it is his hand squeezing my breath out. I can't very well use my axe on a friend, so I try to pry his fingers loose.

Things are getting very dark, and he is squeezing harder and harder. Then, just as I am about to pass out completely, he lets go, and I start drawing in deep breaths through my sore throat.

Soon I can make out what the people around me are saying, and whatI hear is some wierd thing about a hairy tortoise named Gilgamesh!?! I think my brain is still oxygen deprived - I've never heard of hairy tortoises before!
