Whether it was the boredom of living in provincial England or the mere fact that her life felt more like a stay at successive inns, Diedre was propelled to be flirtatious with personified death. It didn’t hurt that the spirit was born with good looks, either.
“How long is your layover?” She asked, taking a seat next to him.
“I just need to pick up some packages in town.” Joe black answered morosely, though he never actually had much to be cheerful about.
“I wonder,” Diedre hinted coyly, sipping at her drink, “If you would have time amidst your busy schedule to attend some mortal amusements.”
