I'm sure those ever-so constructive comments were greatly appreciated by the current residents of AW Egypt who are at this site to discuss Ancient History and not ancient (AS) history...
But, while you are busy reminding us all of the 'heady' days of AS you are actually missing the point entirely of what other people have said on this thread. No one has opined that an infraction should go unpunished, only that it was handled badly. Demotion and banning is sufficient punishment without the public humiliation. Yes, as management of the site, the demis have the right to remove anyone who violates the CoC - but there is nothing in the guidelines that says "guilty parties must be publically named and shamed". The way this was handled was unnecessarily tactless and damaging to the entire community.
