One of the things that always both spooked and fascinated me with the Romulus/Remus story, is that it begins Rome with a murder as primal as Cain and Abel. Romulus ruled after the passionately angry murder of his brother/competitor. It's almost like the Romans put violence and murder up front in all their stories. I know they weren't the only ones that did - but I'd love to have an archetypal study of just why they began their history with aggression. That's long before you even GET to the Sabine women, rape, religious blasphemy, etc., etc.

Not quite like George Washington and the cherry tree!!!
