I do not often appear on AW (Formerly AS) Egypt much because I have my own community sites to maintain. And the real reason, to be honest, AW Egypt has become a place that I have little interest in. I now sign on as a Celt because Egypt on AW has become a place of petty cliques and competition. I hate to say those things, because I have studied Egypt since I was 7 or 8, and I am immersed in Egypt most of my life. I have never seen a group of more meanspirited individuals in any other place on AW than I have here in Egypt. Shame on you all for making AW Egypt what it is now...volunteer or not. I do completely understand the position of AW's Demigods and Owers in publically making the announcement with regard to Lotus Horemheb.
What happened has been, from the time of AS days an offense for which you WOULD be removed from your positon. Period, point, end of discussion. Good, common sense and common decency in most instances will win out, and keep you doing the right thing. But sometimes it does not prevent somene from doing the wrong thing, and so the community as a whole suffers from such an obvious breach of trust.
The second reason is to take such precautions is to make publically known so that the usual rumour mill that AW / AS does not form its usual tendency toward factionalization and festering of a wound. In the interests of community, sometimes such measures must be taken, especially if there is a violation of integrity and the trust of the people who look to that admin / scribe or staff member for guidance in what should be a safe haven.
Egypt is not a safe haven, its 'mostly a den of nasty cutthroats now and I want nothing to do with it.
