I stood with my fists clenched, watching the Sith before us. Gazing around the senate, I could see that we were surrounded- there were at least 50 men in black robes located in this very auditorium.
"I will make an example of the senate to Coruscant," the man in the spotlight continued. "That if they do not join us and fall like the people of Naboo, then we will bring war and terror to their planet and we shall reign in the end with their citizens dead at our feet."
"This is an outrage," an older senator shouts out, perhaps the senator of Coruscant, stepping forward before the poduium. "You can not just waltz in here and expect to take control like this! This is a democracy!" I could see from my place on the floor the Sith's eyes burn red, and he reached out his hand to the older man, raising him up off the ground by waving it before him. The man shook and gasped midair, and in a few breif seconds, he fell hard to the ground, suffocated.
"Oh god!" a female senator cried out next to me.
"Shutup!" I reply harshly in a firm whisper, grabbing her arm. "This situation won't get any better with you squeeling like a pig." I turn my eyes back to the Sith. There is another one of black robes whispering in his ear. The Sith nods, then resteps to the podium.
"Senators," the Sith said. "Our time is short, so I must be brief. Either you sign control of your seat in the senate over to the Sith rule, or we will kill you all, one by one if necessary, and trust me- with 100 of the strongest senators dead on the galactic floor, the other senators of the galactic republic will be certain to follow our rule. Delay the inevitable, do not risk bloodshed, and I will lead the galaxy in a more hopeful tomorrow!" There is some cheering of the Sith in the auditorium seating. Outraged, I feel my arms grabbed from behind, and looking around realize that Sith guards are leading ten of us closest to the leader up to the podium to stand before him.
I stiffened my lip as I am pushed forward. This decision was not hard to make- I would rather die a thousand deaths than sign away our freedom and allow Alderaan fall to Sith rule...
