I thought this thread might be a nice addition to the group - a place to discuss movies with themes similar to what we'll be discussing in the Underworld. And to start off, last weekend I toddled off to the theater for a viewing of The Libertine with Johnny Depp and John Malkovich, among others. Interesting. LOL Very dark film due to both content and filming technique. For me it was one of those films that is darkly depressing - the kind that make you feel depressed but you're not entirely sure why. LOL Johnny Deep and John Malkovich both did fanastic jobs and with Johnny's character you weren't quite sure whether you liked him for his wit and daring or hated him for his determined path of self-destruction.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the film, Johnny Depp is portraying John Wilmot, the 2nd Earl of Rochester during the reign of Charles II. It gives a view into a section of the Earl's life when he became involved with the actress, Elizabeth Barry.
