Why is the welcoming of newcomers to the site suddenly being passed off? Of the list of "responsibilities" I have as a scribe - welcoming Daylings is not the first thing I'd like to see checked off my list. In fact, I don't want it gone at all. I LOVE that Scribes welcome newcomers, because then if they need any help or would like to talk, the Scribes will be among the first people they'll think to go to. It's what I volunteered to do, and I want do it!
If we're going to bring SE's back on board, how about they help with the hoods or festivals instead. Oh, all the SE's are screaming, running, and hiding? Can't blame 'em, but at the same time, I'd rather the Scribes get to do some fun, enjoyable work as well, you know?
And I agree with Caily. SE's are retired. If they wish to volunteer great, but let's not make them work half-time.
