My name is Camelia Baket. I am the planetary ruler of the planet Alderaan, representing as senator in the Galactic Senate at Coruscant.

I succeed my husband of his reign on the planet. My husband died two years ago of natural causes. He was a praised ruler and lead Alderaan through a difficult period as we made the transition from a monarchtic society to a republic, gaining representation in the Galactic Senate, all only four years ago. His death was a shock to us all.

After his death, I was approached to lead the people. I had worked closely with my husband and agreed in his vision of a prosperous Alderaan. I agreed to their offer, stepping into the role of leader. This is my second year as senator.

While my role as senator is a priority, nothing of my position comes before my son, Christian. He is much like his father, and I would be proud if he would become the great leader that his father once was.

While this is an exciting time for Alderaan, joining the republic, giving the Alderaan people a new voice in their government, there are some dark areas that we will still need to overcome. There are some who resisted our change to a republican society. While they exist in few numbers and small protests, I worry that their numbers may grow and they could become a threat to my people. Another issue of concern is the support that my husband had given to the queen of Naboo. When Naboo lost the war, there were thoughts that my husband made the wrong choice in standing by their side. I have pledged to continue supporting Naboo, as they are a small planet, much like ours, and our ties to them in the past have been strong. It is in times like these when alliances are made strongest.

I carry the best interests of my people in high regard at all times, and I will lead them as senator to the best of my abilities, continuing to push forward for a better and more prosporous Alderaan.
