the only one's here in West(ern) Australia were the Aboriginies in 1150!!! Australia wasn't discovered by "whites" until 1770 by Capt. James Cook.
Although there were some sightings of Australia by Portuguese sailors in the 1600's, evidence suggests that these sailors didn't return to their countries to proclaim their discovery as we keep finding shipwrecks off our coastline!
Several pieces of the "Mahogony Ship" around Warrnambool have been found. If they do find the ship, it just might rewrite Australian history by a hundred years or so. *G*
I'm also pretty sure that they didn't have books either... You could have done few rock paintings instead, though. LOL
