Baldassare Castiglione (1478-1529). Published Il Cortegiano or The Book of the Courtier in 1528. Perhaps, the greatest primary source on Renaissance court procedures and activities. This perhaps is his greatest claim to fame.

He took part in the Warrior Pope Julius the Second’s campaign against Venice prior to his involvement with Pope Clement VII.

Does anyone else have anything to add on this man and his wonderful life?

Signor, you have created a tremendous question! Cheers to you!
