Good Afternoon To You, My Gentle Friends,

I know that I have mentioned The Apian Way" in my Travels here . . .

It was a Memory of mine, that when my Parents and I were touring Rome, as we were being driven down the Apian Way in the Tour Bus, the Guides asked us if we would like to walk a short distance . . .

Oh Yes, said my Daddy, ever ready to WALK anywhere . . .

    Hmmm . . .

SO,out we hopped, and walked, and walked, and walked, until my legs were ready to fall off . . .

Come, Child, there were those who walked these Sacred Steps and never lived to tell the tale, says my Daddy, wise person whom he was . . .

The entire time that we were walking the Tour Guides would recount horrific tales of those who had given their lives for the seeming "enhancement" and "glory" of Rome . . .

Needless to say, it made a vivid impression on me . . .

    Have a most thoughtful afternoon . . . forthwith . . .
