Good Morning To You, My Gentle Friends,

Yes, I have indeed been to Rome, three or four times as a matter of fact . . .

    Although, unfortunately, not lately . . .

However, I have vivid memories of when I was there . . .

When I lived overseas with my parents, we mostly lived in Singapore, and that is where I mostly grew up . . .

With my parents being Missionaries, we went overseas for five years, and then came back to America for one year, then went back oversas for five years, in that pattern . . .

In the trips back and forth, my parents made sure that we travelled for a good solid month or so, going to various places, Rome, France, Spain, England, etc., etc., and we would stay for three or four days in one place, and just soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy the sights, and such . . .

When we would be in each place, my parents always made sure to take the scenic routes, and see as much as possible . . .

For instance, in Rome, we were able to tour the "Apian Way", which, if You remember was a long winding road, lined with trees, very scenic and beautiful, and full of history . . .

Unfortunately, it had the history of having hundreds of Christians and criminals crucified in long rows of crosses down the Apian Way . . .

If You have ever seen Epic Movies such as "Spartacus", it gives You an idea of this fact - the huge masses of Christians and Criminals who were executed in this manner . . .

At any rate, when we were in Rome, we got to see many of the Wonderful Historical Things . . .

In Spain, we saw the Matador Bull Fights . . .

Sometime, I'll tell You about the Suitcase with my High School Diploma that I almost lost!!! . . .

And in France, we saw the Louvre, and other places . . .

In London, England, we saw St.Paul's Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey . . .

My Daddy Absolutely MADE me walk down the aisles of St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey with him . . .

    Why, I asked plaintively . . .

I had no clue about why I should do this . . .

I was tired and they were VERY long aisles . . .

Come, child, do as you are told, my Daddy says . . .

So, I am walking down these aisles, and not liking it at all, but still taking in the WONDERFUL things to see while I am walking . . .

This is so that you can tell your grandchildren that you actually did this, says my wonderful Daddy . . .

    Hmmm . . .

At that time, I was totally not appreciative of any grandchildren - I was 15 years old . . .

However, now, I tell my Darling Victoria that I DID walk down the aisles of St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey - not once, but twice did I walk those aisles . . .

SO, when Lady Diana Spencer married Prince Charles, I melted, because I had taken that walk . . .

And when other Royals have married in Westminster Abbey, I have melted again, because I have been there, and taken that walk . . .

    Ah, The Memories . . .

    Have a most splendiferous morning . . . forthwith . . .
