....Pope Joan by Donna Cross. Whether you believe that there was a female pope or not, this book offers a unique insight into the view of women in the church of the Medieval Era. Women were not regarded as equals....they were less than slaves. In some instances women were lower than the animals. Their minds were smaller. Learning decreased a woman's ability to bear children...the only real use for a woman.
I think this book should be read by every woman. It might make us more grateful for the privaledges we take for granted.
