I've also started studying Swedish in recent months; I decided I really needed to learn a modern Scandinavian language. Anyway, I'm very much a beginner and I could really used the practice! Right now my main focus has been Icelandic, since I'll be there in June, but I've been enjoying noticing the similarities and differences b/w it and Swedish. And definitely Swedish is much easier than Icelandic! Not so many endings and inflections! I imagine Swedish and Icelandic have a relationship not unlike Italian and Latin.
