Xen's master had given her some time off to rest before her next Trial. Having not ventured forth into the city very often, she decided to take a walk after her morning meditation.

As she slowly walked through the market, she found herself less interested in the goods, and more interested in the people. There were children playing, people buying foods for their diners. Merchants shouting out the names of various goods.

A she walked towards the edge of the market area, she saw a man grab a woman’s credits. Xen took off after him immediately. She followed as he cut between people, darting this way and that. He made for a utility lift going up the side of a nearby building. Xen was but a second too late though. He activated the lift and began moving quickly upwards.

Xen stood there for a second, focusing her energies. Then, in a quick burst, she channeled her energy and jumped. One story. Two stories. Three stories. She was gaining fast. At the fourth floor, she reached out and caught the edge of the lift, grabbing on.

She pulled herself up just as they reached the top. She grabbed the purse from the man and as she was about to detain him, her master walked up across the roof. “Very good Xen, you passed your test.”

Xen was slightly confused at first, but when the thief walked up and shook her master’s hand, she understood immediately.
