as Raul went down. He kept telling me to run, but I wouldn't. I hoped that this creature wouldn't wouldn't kill or hurt Raul, but I didn't want to reveal myself, until absolutly certain that it was the last option I could have.

I saw the creature go for Raul's neck. That was my que, I lunged forward and took the bite myself. I could feel the vampire taking my blood...or what was left of it. It tried to drain me to the very brink of what I could. I saw the crucifix lying on the ground near me.

Without thinking and know well that Raul was still conscious, I picked up the crucifix. I screamed from the pain. It was like nothing that I had ever felt before and never want to. I crammed the cross in the creatures mouth just as my strength was going out.

It screamed an agonizing scream. It finally writhered and died. I crawled as close to Raul as I could. I saw in his eyes that he know knew what I was. I backed off on case he tried to kill me to.

"Are you okay?" I asked him cautiously.
