I've never been to Wales, but everything I read or see about it, especially the ancient ruins, the geography -- I want to go and travel Wales should I ever get to the British Isles again.

While I may be a Pict at heart, I'm convinced there was a lot of overlap of trade and culture in the earliest days.

A goal of mine, way on the back burner, is to learn Welsh (I'm less intimidated by its surfeit of consonants as I am by the Gaelic surfeit of vowels).

One of my armchair hobbies is the studying of stone circles, megaliths and cairns.

As far as I know, I have no Welsh ancestry, but then again I do have English which could have overlapped with the Welsh further back than my uncle the geneaologist's records go.
