    How interesting. I love reading things in Old English and seeing their translations in Modern English. I had no idea what the OE passage meant until I read the Modern one. Then it started to make sense. "heofonrice" is heaven's kingdom. "Ric is a Germanic root where we get the English word "rich" and German "Reich" meaning empire.So it would make sense that "ric" means "kingdom" in OE.
    "Weard" is another word I recognized. In Modern English, we have the word "warden" meaning someone in charge of a prison. It's fun to read OE passages and find the ME cognates.
