Has anyone here heard of the WE WERE THERE... series? I read it as a child and have been looking for it ever since.

This was a series of books by different authors that took actual historic events and placed 2 or 3 children in the area. These were one of my first forays into historic fiction....and indeed into history itself.

If you see these books, buy them. If not for your child or grandchild, get it for yourself. They are my favorite type of writing. The kind where you learn about history, but the story is so interesting that you don't realize you're learning til it's all over.

Even though these books have been out of print for many years, they are well worth any work you have to go through to find them.
