    The Winter Solstice.
This holiday occurs on Dec 21st or 22nd

holly2.gif This is the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It is a celebration of the rebirth of the sun. Fires and candles are lit to welcome back the sun's returning light and warmth. The holiday celebrates the end of winter and the bounty of the upcoming spring. The Solstice is a reminder that the ultimate product of death is, rebirth.
