The sea is deceptive, pretending innocence –
Grey sifting gently over layers of deep blue…
She is wilder than anything here and will not be tamed;
White mane tossed, frenzied gallop to the sands,
Bearer of gifts.
Sometimes I hear her howling for a sacrifice,
Stampeding the rocks,
Plunging at her tether.
Usually she just murmurs softly, trying to call me home.
