I believe that Atia continued to lead the life of matronly dignity and uprightness for which she was famous, all the way up to her death in 43 BC, the year of her son's first consulship. Indeed, the only whisper of impropriety against her was the possibility, floated many years later, that Augustus have been the son of Apollo. If she were alive today, she could make a lot of money out of the makers of "Rome" in the libel courts...
