Wynnfried ran her finger around the rim of her port and scanned to room, hoping David would make an appearance. The energy in the pub was heavy that night and it sat heavily on her chest. Heavy muddy colors of red and oranges hovered over their heads, advertising their "being" and Wynn felt physically sick. Trying to advert her gaze from the other guests of the inn, Wynn blinked hard and tried to focus on her brother - seeking him inwardly.
"That port is getting warm," Valenta said, easily balancing her tray on her hip. "You want anything else?"
Wynnfried smiled wearily at Valenta. "Have you seen David tonight?"
Valenta looked around busy pub and her patrons. "Not tonight. He's usually here by now."
Wynnfried nodded, a great boding growing in her chest. David never missed his daily imbibing - which had now turned into his all-day imbibing. "He's probably already passed out at home. I'll have to go check on him."
"Miss Wynn, is everything alright?" Valenta asked, cautious not to reveal their true relationship.
"I really don't know Valenta." Wynn looked deep into her eyes, the gray-blue piercing through the veil. "Do you see what I see here?" She asked her student silently. "Can you see them?"
Valenta shook her head. "More feel than see," she replied.
Wynnfried nodded her head. "Then we'll work on that more soon." Standing from her table, she gathered her long wool cape and draped around her shoulders. "They're out and about more often now. I'm not sure why. But we'll certainly need to find out if any of us is to be safe."
