Aulus had a gust of motivation hit him and decided to continue with his trip. He suspected Caesar was busy and would want him to do this himself.
Later, riding to the city of Gades for an inspection, Aulus and Titus talk:
"So, Titus, what are your intentions and plans here? What would you like me to allow you to do."
Aulus knew the last bit was somewhat condescending, but he wanted to make sure Titus understood the power structure was definite.
