Gladiator was filmed there along with several similar films in recent years. Not sure about older films, probably all on sets in hollywood or in the desert region of arizona and california. But Malta has so many unique features to it that make it a perfect location for sword and sandal films and the labour is inexpensive as is the rent. Also a great choice of local extras. I would love to go there someday! Has anyone here been to Malta?
