    I've a specific question about copyright in graphics

    I had read years ago from a booklet published about copyright that if you use an image to make something else, it still falls under the copyright assigned to the original image's creator. Er, that came out wrong. What I mean to say is, you cannot claim something as your own if you made it using an image that was not your creation.

    Does that make sense?

    Anyway, I also read in same booklet that this original image copyright superceding any new one made with it no longer applies once you've done...something..to the final image. If the original image is unrecognizable beyond a certain degree, or if it is changed/altered a particular number of times. Or if you stand on your head and recite "its mine its mine its mine".. something. I forget. Does anyone know of a location where you can find the exact parameters of image usage within a new image creation?
