That's true as far as the Trioedd Ynys Prydein go - but the Irish triads are gnomic rather than mnemonic (sp?!) - ie, they are meant to encompass truths, more like proverbs than anything else.
I like reading the Trioedd Ynys Prydein, I like to try to glean nuggets of lore from within them. There is much there for those who choose to look. I also find it quite sad though, to read them and realise how many tales have been lost.
So, another triad from me too:
Three things that bring forth great sorrow:
The memory of fallen heroes
The memory of a golden age passed
The forgetting of our songs.
