This may be a strange request.
But I have been working with Roman military finds for 15 years now and I have never seen one of these rings turn up on an excavation. I have seen the signet rings with the standards and the eagle, some of them are truly glorious, but none of the bronze ones Julia talks about.

Could somebody post an image of these numbered rings - I would love to see them - They are not from the Northwest of the Empire- but that would leave rather a lot of other places unaccounted for - so I would like to learn more.

Please an image would be a real treat.
