Just got the book and perused it a bit. It is better than I expected after reading a couple of reviews--not particularly *deep* but not fluff, either. I think it's quite well done and very accessible. Good bibliography, notes and a decent index, too. I'm not sure if I'd have paid $23 for it in a bookshop, but since I bought it used for $3 (thank you abebooks.com)I am quite pleased to add it to my collection.
