abuses at Iseabal, whether of the verbal or vegetable nature, will answer to my sword, for I admit the exact same feelings about the movie-Arwen. I felt it almost kept the Aragorn in the movie from being as strong as he was in the book. She was almost too human (especially her and Aragorn's very modern-seeming snog at his coronation). Dignity, yes. Immortality, yes. Whining? No, there is no place for that. Also I missed Glorfindel's character.
So as not to be completely negative, I should probably propose something I thought the movies did well. Well certainly there are plenty. For one, I'll say the entire Rohirric land and culture. Those of us who are also in the Angelcynn group could go on and on about just how authentic they were. Also, for me personally, I totally loved the scene of Gandalf dispelling the influence of Saruman from Theoden. As silly as I thought the staff-battle had been between Gandalf and Saruman, it really prepared for a beautiful effect when Saruman is left on the floor after being cast from Theoden. Truly awesome.
