Arianna asked early if there was a performance people did not like. Yes, in all honesty yes. And at the risk of having people jump all over me I will state my opinion. I did not like the entire Arwen Evenstar injection into the films. In the book, she is an appendix, not the replacement for Glorfindel who carried Frodo to safety. She is not this warrior elf who defies her father nor does she show up in Aragorn's dreams as some sort of beacon.

I got tired of her character being elevated to some demi-god elflike status above the deeds of other elf characters like Galadriel (who, hello was one of the original elves who came from Arda). By the time ROTK came out, her scenes were a joke- stare into the camera and look thoughtful, sigh a bit, look weepy(read- time to break and go to the bathroom).

The Arwen character was blown entirely out of proportion, and yes I have read all the 'justification' for why she was utilized rather than the original characters from the book. I still don't think it warranted a super Arwen who defies Tolkien's vision.

Besides, hasn't Liv Tyler made enough money by now to fix that overbite?
