It all began when the icecaps retreated approx. 10.000 years ago. People from the continent discovered the new land mass appearing and saw the rich resources available. Fish, whale, forests and game.
They settled down and became the first Norwegians and ancestors of the brave people who live here today.
There is also evidence of a different group of people, reindeer-herders called the sámi, entering the north-eastern part through Siberia and settling around the Varanger-fjord.
