After being lost in the desert for far too long, I am exhausted to my bones. One day you are an innocent party viewing a dig, the next you are led off and abandoned to find your way back. I must get cleaned up then go down and see what money I owe for my room. I paid a month in advance, but I must be close, if not over, what was paid. Now where is my key! I give in to a moment of panic as a couple of hotel guest walk by and sneer at my appearance. Ah, here it is! I insert it, turn the lock, and go in.
A hot bath first. No, food. I need food. No, I cannot be seen like this, even by a room service boy. A bath it is then. And a glass of water.
