As Favonius noted, archeologists think they may have found, not only the tomb of Ghengis, but other Khans, including Kublai. Butl I can't locate on Google any hint that, since the site was determined in 2001, the government has given permission to excavate, due to Shamanistic convictions that excavating a grave destroys the souls involved.
I can understand that, but I wish they would give permission anyway!
Here is another article on it. Note: First, I'm struck by the fact that THOUSANDS of those involved in the funeral were, apparently, killed to the last man to prevent the site of the tomb from every becoming known. Second, as noted - what a wonderful black market, ready-made, to sell priceless artifacts from the tombs! I hope they've kept up the guard and, even then, the likelihood that the grave(s) are being plundered makes one wince.
Here is another take on the finds.
