According to the U TV article Thousand welcome Alexander star to hometown premier, which was published on Friday January 7, 2005, Angelina Jolie said about the strong Irish cast of Alexander: "It was one of the best experiences I`ve ever had they were all just lovely, lovely people. Especially the Irish men, they are obviously just got a real sense of fun and wild but really good hearted and decent, they take care of each other and everyone around." John Kavanagh, who starred in Into the West, said Robert Lane Fox, who was an historical adviser on the film, had recommended that the Celts would be closest to the Macedonians in the film. He said that was the reason behind such a strong Irish contingent. Kavanagh said that after spending three-weeks in boot camp in a battle scene, "you were absolutely fearless".
