One Hit Wonders in every decade, but it seems to me that the 80s were loaded with them, much more so than the 70s. Perhaps it was because of the numerous "new wave" bands and metal bands making a lot of noise on the charts back then. Few of those bands had any kind of staying power and virtually disappeared after one album. I admit the same could be said for the disco bands of the 70s.
With respect to your question about ZZ Top or AC-DC, DEFINITELY AC-DC. Highway to Hell all the way, baby!
