I was delighted to see Troy has finally appeared in Hellas, and can't wait to see how it develops.
When you think of it, from the battles in this small place, came (among other things) Homer and Alexander the Great. One of my favorite stories - before beginning his conquest of Asia, Alexander left his army crossing the Hellespont and made a pilgrimage to the ruins of Troy with his best friend, Hephaestion, and a few close friends. He sacrificed, offered his armor to Athena at the shrine, and was given a wonderful shield supposedly kept in Troy that belonged to his ancestor, Achilles.
Alexander had that shield - it was too fragile to use much - carried before him in every one of his battles as a holy relic.
He also offered sacrifice to the ghost of Priam, in the hopes that he would not take revenge on the ancestor of Achilles in his quest against the Persians.
Some story. Some place!
