I am a really big fan of anything written by H. R. Ellis-Davidson. She is very thourough; she presents all the information on a subject before detailing the supported evidence. She is also really good about citing her sources. I was hard pressed to find any derogetory/Christianized statements in any of her texts (I am reading Gods and Myths of Northern Europe now, available at any bookstore).
