My full name is John Francis Garret Lasher. I'm 31 year old surveyor from up-state New York. I am a proud German-American whose family has been here in the 'new world' for 300 years. My family name 'Lasher' is an anglicized version of my original Alamannic surname Lescher or in modern German Löscher. My Lescher ancestors once held a castle and lands in Kilchberg, Baden-Württemburg Germany and occasionally served as administrators and knights (warriors) for the Graffs von Hohenberg who were a family branch of the Welfs. Though, I am no Welf, I appreciate the clan and the opportunity to be fostered by them here for a time...

I discovered this place doing a internet search for the Alamanni and took a look around. I liked what I'd seen and decided to become a member. Though, I take no "persona", and I am who I am, I fit in well here and look forward to many interesting and informative discussions.
